Deonté was born and raised in Nashville, TN. The incredible Gospel scene in the music city was an early influence, forming his love for music and singing. Theatre found it's way into Deonté's life and he hasn't looked back since. Belmont University, well known for its connection to music city's music row (being located right at the end of the legendary street), is where Deonté earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theatre. While at Belmont, Deonté participated in musical theatre and dance performances. He also participated in a number of cast recordings for Music Theatre International.
After college, performing took Deonté all around the world: theme parks in Orlando, FL and Germany, exotic islands and destinations across the Mediterranean and Caribbean with some of the worlds most renowned cruising companies, and the tours of Dreamgirls and Sister Act that took him all across the United States and Canada, as well as Tokyo and Osaka, Japan!
Deonté is currently in Aladdin on Broadway where he is a Standby for Genie, Babkak, and The Sultan. When not onstage in Aladdin, Deonté can be found in concerts and cabarets across the city. The most recent concert, The Genies' Jukebox, at Yotel's The Green Room 42, brings together Aladdin's Genie and the two Genie Standbys as they celebrate their unique bond and friendship through music and laughter!
Deonté's debut EP is expected early 2019.
